I was only a young child, maybe five or six years old, when I saw my first dune buggy. It was at a family reunion in the mountains outside Denver and my uncle had a yellow one he was driving on the dirt roads. At one point he had three passengers in the two-seat vehicle. Soon after I remember him slowly driving back to the campground and announcing he’d blown the engine.
I’m sure this one was, like the majority of dune buggies, Volkswagen powered. There were, however, a number of folks who transplanted the Corvair engine into their dune buggy for more power. Today’s CPotD is of one of those hot, little numbers.
